How Solar Works

Sunlast power box diagramMany people don't know that there are no changes in how you use electricity when you use solar energy. Solar electricity works in the same as electricity that is sold by your electric utility company. You will still use all your appliances the same way but with the benefit of a lower electric bill.

Here is how it works: solar electricity is generated by photovoltaic (PV) solar panels that are installed on your roof. In many cases our PV panel adheres directly to the roof without penetrations and is approved for roofing manufacturer warranties. When sunlight falls on the panels, DC (directional current) electrical current is created instantly. The DC electricity is fed into an inverter that changes it into standard AC (alternating current) electricity- the same kind your home or business already uses.

Solar energy is very reliable. For over 50 years, solar energy has proven to be reliable. Unlike some other methods used to generate electricity, solar energy does not rely on moving parts that can wear out. In addition, solar electricity requires little maintenance with the exception of rising off the panels occasionally to clear off dust or debris that could block the sunlight and reduce efficiency.

You can start saving, reducing or even virtually eliminating your electric bill immediately!
